About us
This qualification reflects the role of community services workers involved in the managing, coordinating and/or delivering of person-centred services to individuals, groups and communities. At this level, workers have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously within an established framework. They are responsible for planning, designing, implementing and evaluating programs and services. Workers may have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers. This course is for those who want to work in the community services sector. You will learn how to provide quality support to people in the community and their families. To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 100 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

This course is delivered face-to-face in a classroom-based setting, as well as through structured self-study and workplace-based training.
Entry Requirements
- •Have an IELTS* score of 6.0 (test results must be no more than 2 years old). English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following.
- •Educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country
- •Completed at least 6 months of a Certificate IV level course in an Australian RTO
- •Successful completion of an English Placement Test.
Pre-requisite Entry Requirement:
Prerequisite of either the CHC33021 or CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), or completion of the CHC30408 Certificate III in Disability along with the CHCSS00125 Entry to Certificate IV in Disability Support Skill Set.
Note: The other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL can be accepted. You are required to provide your results so that we can confirm they are equivalent to IELTS 6.0.

How Can You Apply?
There are no specific educational prerequisites for entry into this course, as entry into this level is based on an assessment of English language proficiency. Students will be assessed by Australian Sovereign College at orientation using the Placement Test and interview.
The applicant must be 18 years old or above.
They will then be placed in the appropriate class level as follows:
- Beginner
- Elementary
- Pre-intermediate
- Intermediate
- Upper-intermediate

You can apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning) as per the information included in our International Student Handbook, which is available at www.ausc.edu.au
If you are granted course credit, this will affect your course fees as well as the duration of your course. We will advise you in writing of changes to fees or course duration as a result of the credit. You will also be issued with a new Confirmation of Enrolment.
